In a tiny, isolated village called Crosby Garrett in the North of England where nothing much ever happened, a young girl continued to dream and believed she would one day be a star. And from a humble background near wind-swept Cumbrian hills to the glamour of Los Angeles to record her debut album, A.M.A.N.D.A.’s Cinderella story is unique.
“It really is a dream come true,” says the singer-songwriter about her soaring career. Spending six months in America has produced a fantastic debut album, and honed the young singer’s vocal range, whilst keeping her feet on the ground too.
Carlisle Live will be the moment where A.M.A.N.D.A. finds herself back home to perform with Boyzone and it will crown the young singer’s journey so far which really has only just begun.

eScala are a musical group that have been together for two years after meeting on a tour bus travelling round the UK and Ireland. They were part of the string section of the orchestra and it was there that they became great friends and decided to form a band incorporating both their talent for playing classical music and their love of contemporary styles. eScala, who are Victoria, Izzy, Chantal and Tasya, were classically trained at the Guildhall School of Music, Royal Academy and Royal College of Music and have spent years of intense work honing their skills.

Andrew Johnston is the 13 year-old lad who stunned the nation on Britain’s Got Talent and not only reduced Amanda Holden to tears but had hard-to-please Simon Cowell applauding him. The Dumfries-born teenager last year went on to become head chorister at Carlisle Cathedral and this year became a household name through his TV appearances.

Hope are the group who wowed the British public on the X-Factor and showed that girl power is back with their luscious vocals and cheeky prowess. Boyzone have asked Hope to support them during their outdoor concert shows this summer making Carlisle Live not to be missed as both groups are united for this spectacular event in Cumbria.

The incredible pop gods McFly will be performing their immense, feel good music to finish this world class weekend on a guaranteed high. They have already notched up 7 number 1 singles and 2 number 1 albums during their epic career. We are extremely proud to have them performing for you!

The eclectic and eccentric Hoosiers are a three-piece British and Swedish band bursting with ideas and energy offering a unique brand of odd-pop which has captivated audiences world-wide. Their debut album, The Trick To Life, went to No.1 in the UK charts last year and they have had top 5 hits with Worried About Ray and Goodbye Mr. A. Singles released this year include Worst Case Scenario and Cops And Robbers, both which charted well, and the guys add an exciting new dimension to Carlisle Live.

Go:Audio are an energetic young band who follow a long tradition of bands made up of siblings, from Oasis and Arcade Fire to My Chemical Romance and Good Charlotte. They formed to fill the gap between British bands like Lostprophets and U.S. bands The Killers, Panic At The Disco and Fall Out Boy and have been tipped for the top by the music press. Their hit anthem Made Up Stories really helped to establish them and 2008 so far has been a huge year for the guys. Mixing elements of pop and rock, Go:Audio are set to get the crowds going at Carlisle Live.

Billiam were formed after a nationwide search to find the boy band of 2007. All four lads have wanted to be in the music industry since they were kids and cite their recent influences as people like Take That, Blue, The Backstreet Boys and Five. They performed on Westlife’s tour and earlier in 2008 supported Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up Tour! Billiam keep on getting bigger and bigger and are not to be missed at Carlisle Live!

Avenue are a Boyband for the 21st Century. The brainchild of no-one but themselves, the boys have been taking their time to get to work with the right producers, the right A&Rs, and have the right team behind them with a few hidden surprises! The good times of Boybands will return. Says Ross Candy, “Our tunes are poppy in that they’re catchy, but they’re the kind of tracks that you could listen to in clubs as a dance tune, or in a bar… Pop has changed – it’s not about cheese anymore.
